Applies to: AMP Approval Guide in the sidebar. Do this before your first AMP campaign.
AMP emails run interactive content inside the inbox, so providers will not render them from just any sender. Each provider approves your sending domain first, checking that you are authenticated, that you have a decent sending reputation, and that your AMP emails follow their rules.
Until your domain is approved, every recipient sees the HTML fallback instead of the interactive version. Nothing breaks — but nobody spins your wheel either.
This approval is granted by the email providers, not by Ampemail. We cannot speed it up, so start it early: allow several weeks before a campaign you actually care about.
Gmail, Yahoo Mail and Mail.ru. Every other inbox receives the fallback version, which is why the fallback deserves as much attention as the AMP version.
All three providers expect the same groundwork:
Authenticate your domain — SPF, DKIM and DMARC all set up and passing.
Send from a stable, reputable domain with a real sending history. A brand-new domain with no track record will struggle.
Have a working AMP email ready, since applications ask for a sample. Build one in Ampemail and send it to yourself first.
Send only over TLS, and make sure every link in the email is https://.
Register your domain in Google Postmaster Tools.
Submit the AMP approval request, including a sample AMP email sent from your domain to [email protected].
Wait for approval — typically 7 to 14 days.

Contact the Yahoo developer team through their sender programme.
Provide domain verification and the details they ask for.
Review takes roughly 2 to 4 weeks.

Submit their technical application.
Complete the domain authentication setup they specify.
Approval typically takes 1 to 2 weeks.

Send a test to an address at each approved provider and confirm the interactive version renders. Then watch the AMP Opens and Fallback Opens figures on your dashboard — if AMP opens stay at zero for a provider you have been approved by, something in the setup is not right.
Do I need approval from all three? No. Each is independent. Approval from Gmail alone means Gmail recipients get the interactive email and everyone else gets the fallback — often a sensible place to start, since Gmail is usually the largest share of a list.
Does approval carry across domains or subdomains? Treat approval as specific to the domain you applied with. If you change sending domain, expect to apply again.
Can I send AMP emails while waiting? Yes. They will render as the fallback until approval comes through, so there is no reason to hold back a campaign — you simply will not get the interactive version yet.
Was our email rejected because of something in Ampemail? Unlikely — Ampemail validates against the AMP spec before you export. Rejections almost always concern domain authentication, sending reputation or the content of the sample, rather than the template's markup.
